Using iClicker - Running iClicker

 

Connect the i>clicker receiver to your computer through the USB port

Your computer will tell you that it has recognized new hardware and inform you when it is ready to use it (this takes a few seconds).

Place your i>clicker flash drive in the USB slot on the back of the receiver

  1. You could also connect your flash drive to other USB ports in the computer
    Or
  2. You could save all the contents of the flash drive to your hard drive and run iclicker directly from your computer.

Browse to the flash drive you just connected (often E or F; sometimes called a Removable Disk)

The flash drive will contain folders called MyCoursePC and MyCourseMac. These folders contain course templates and application software for PC and Mac users, respectively.

Inside the flash drive you will find the following:

  1. iclicker.exe - iClicker software
  2. igrader.exe - the gradebook
  3. roster.txt - your class roster should be here
  4. WebUpdate - use this to update your software

Click the iClicker icon to launch the iClicker program

Click "start session"

A floating bar menu will appear in the top left corner of your computer desktop, indicating i>clicker is active.

Select your presentation software (such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) to prompt students for answers.

Click the START button to ask and record students' responses

A green timer will appear on the menu bar, indicating that polling is active. On the right-hand side of the menu bar, a counter will display how many responses have been received.

Click the STOP button to stop recording students' responses

You will be able to access student responses using iGrader.
