What Is Cloud Computing?

If you haven’t heard the term “cloud computing” yet, you probably will soon. Many individuals, colleges, and companies are using computing that lives “in the cloud,” for greater efficiency and cost savings. This short and fun video, produced by Common Craft, explains what “cloud computing” is, in plain English.

New Year – New Look for SBRnet

SBRnet, one of the library’s key sports business research databases, unveiled a new home page that’s designed to make it easier to find the information you need. Links to all the major research sections, such as participation, attendance, and venue reports, are now located in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Access to sport-specific information is now located on the right hand side of the page. You can also search for articles from key titles, such as the NSGA Research Newsletter and Sports Industry Update, using the Article Search function now located in the center of the page.

What else is new?

A new “In the News” section provides users a quick update to breaking stories related to sports business and marketing
Data for TV viewership and attendance in 2009 will be added by January 15th
A new “Research in Focus” feature will launch in March 2010 that will provide in-depth analysis of key issues

Some winter possibilities to explore

From snow boarding to snow tracking, winter white provides a variety of activities for everyone. Babson Library has a display of books on winter sports, such as snow boarding and curling (an upcoming Winter Olympic sport).

Books on tracking wildlife by the trail that they leave and tips for driving in snowy, icy road conditions.

The display cases are located on the 1st floor of the Library to the left of the Information Desk as you enter the building.
